Cheeky Wipes Australia Suppliers
Some brands out there claim to make all their products in the UK or Australia but actually don't. We prefer to be honest and transparent and are proud to work with carefully selected partners in Turkey, China and Pakistan who all meet our ethical production standard.
It's not just us saying that, but winning the Queens Award for Enterprise in the Sustainable Development category means that you have to prove that each part of our supply chain is meeting the UN strict rules and guidelines for Sustainable Development.
Ideally we would manufacture in Australia, however we can't do so at a price point which would make our simple reusables accessible to lots of people. Instead we've chosen to accept the increased carbon footprint from shipping but this is offset by making the products available at a lower price point, and therefore lowering carbon emissions overall by replacing disposables for many, many more people than if the price was higher.
Our crack team of factories in Turkey, China and Pakistan have been personally visited and vetted to ensure that they meet our ethical production standard:
No child labour - no underage children are employed by our suppliers
No forced labour - all the workforce choose to work for their employers and can leave at any time (by giving notice, if appropriate)
No discrimination - the workers are all treated fairly, with no discrimination based on age, race, caste, nationality, disability, gender, marital status, politics or sexual orientation or identity
Fairly paid for a fair days work - wages and benefits meet at least the national standards if not higher
Working hours - again, working hours must meet national legal standards with overtime being voluntary and paid at a higher rate
Working conditions - should be safe, hygienic and clean
Committed to being better…
One of our suppliers (featured in the header of this page) is based in Pakistan, they're a family owned business and it's delightful not only to meet the father and son who do such a good job of running the business, but also the wider family circle too. They recently relocated to a new factory and invested in green solar panels to meet their energy requirements. Trees have been planted around the factory, making it a welcoming and shady environment for workers. The factory have a sponsorship scheme, paying for workers to attend university and better their education and providing a job for them once they graduate.
Here's a video showing the solar panels that they installed as part of their warehouse build:
